We Jazz organises new summer festival, Odysseus, on Lonna island between 25 and 26 of July 2020, expanding the popular Lonna concert series to an integrated summer festival. The latest programme release is Eero Koivistoinen Quartet performing the legendary Odysseus album, which also was the inspiration behind the festival name.
Odysseus (1969) is one of the most influential jazz recordings in Finland and is also an internationally acclaimed album. Eero Koivistoinen Quartet is formed by saxophonist Eero Koivistoinen, pianist Alexi Tuomarila, bassist Jori Huhtala and drummer Jussi Lehtonen.
We Jazz celebrates the new program release by adding one piece of Odysseus original record in their record shop catalog.
The first acts were released earlier. In addition to Eero Koivistoinen Quartet, the festival will feature ensembles such as Timo Lassy Band, Verneri Pohjola Quartet, 3TM, Dalindèo, JAF Trio and Mario Rom’s Interzone.
