Danish quintet Girls In Airports to release new album

entry-image

The fourth album Fables is issued on British Edition Records.

One of the most original Danish contemporary jazz groups, Girls In Airports, gives another sample of their versatility and natural-sounding eclecticism on their newest album Fables, just out on the British label Edition Records. Drawing from indie rock and urban folk, Fables reaches to multifarious musical directions but never loses its focus. The group’s fanbase has grown steadily over the years and now after three self-published releases, they release their very first album on Edition Records, known to the Finnish audience as the home of such groups as Oddarrang, Alexi Tuomarila Trio and Drifter.

Composed of saxophonist Martin Stender, saxophonist-clarinettist Lars Greve, keyboardist Mathias Holm, percussionist Victor Dybbroe and drummer Mads Forsby, Girls In Airports began their journey from student house parties and small clubs before their international career. DOY spirit having always gone strong among this brotherhood, they have in addition to self-releasing dealt with the gig booking collectively; indeed, the group has gained a substantial popularity as a live band in China, Brazil, South-Korea and the United States besides their home country. In Finland the group has played at Tampere Jazz Happening in 2013.

The album is to come out on CD, vinyl and digital format. Watch the video for the title track below.
