The first Odysseus Festival will take place in the marine environment of the Lonna island from 24th–25th July. The event will feature e.g. Hailu Mergia, Y-OTIS, Lucia Cadotsch Speak Low, Dalindèo, Timo Lassy, Verneri Pohjola Quartet and Eero Koivistoinen Quartet performing the material of their classic album Odysseus. The daily program will be announced today.
We Jazz is organizing a new Odysseus festival on the island of Lonna near Helsinki on July 24-25, 2021. Held for the first time, the two-day summer festival extends the previously popular We Jazz evenings at Lonna to a weekend-long, musically diverse event. The organizing team aims to explore the island of Lonna in the style of the December We Jazz Festival, presenting new, interesting performance spaces. The daily program of the event will be announced today.
More performer announcements are yet to come before the event. The JT-Line water bus from Kauppatori runs to Lonna. The journey takes about 10 minutes and tickets can be obtained from the ticket office at the point of departure and from the ship itself, as well as online in advance. The price of a round trip ticket is 7 €.
The first Odysseus Festival was originally scheduled to take place in July 2020, but due to the prevailing corona pandemic, the event was postponed to the summer of 2021. The Odysseus 2020 tickets already purchased are valid to the 2021 event.
