Creative Music and Sound Workshop music course is for all interested in creative expression and improvisation, in every genre and instrument: students, professionals, non-professionals, all instruments, vocalists, composers. The themes of the course include combining composed and improvised music, ensemble work, sound collages, combining different genres, such as western classical music, jazz, contemporary music, folk music.
The following topics are discussed: Focal Breathing and Intonation, Rhythm, Melody and Dynamics (RMD - technique), and Non-Linear Composition and Conducting Techniques. Prior experience in improvisation isn’t needed. The event is a four-day intensive course.
The teacher of the course is saxophonist and composer Esa Pietilä, who is internationally recognized for his projects, recordings, concerts and masterclasses.
