Unique French-Canadian-Congolese trio with pianist Benoît Delbecq, bassist Miles Perkin and percussionist Emilie Bayiendan tours eight cities in Finland.
A distinguished French pianist Benoît Delbecq brings his top-notch ensemble Benoît Delbecq 3 to Finland in April for Vapaat äänet tour. The group has earlier been warmly welcomed by the Finnish audience and on this tour they will perform their new music and music from the vaunted album Ink, released in 2014. In addition to Delbecq the ensemble is formed by Canadian bassist Miles Perkin and Congolese percussionist Emilie Bayienda. The tour starts from Loviisa on 13th of April.
Trio plays distinctive modern jazz combining rhythmic innovation with strong composing and the result grows hypnotic in places. The atmosphere is described as “sweet dizziness” by the pianist himself and with the African beat it comes close to musical trance.
