Legendary American guitarist Bill Frisell returns to Finland on February 16, 2027, and will perform at Savoy Theatre in Helsinki with his trio. Having sold out his previous Helsinki concert, the Bill Frisell Trio brings the guitarist together with bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Rudy Royston, and the trio’s long-refined ensemble playing is magical to hear in a live setting.
The Bill Frisell Trio, regarded as one of the world’s most acclaimed jazz groups, returns to Helsinki and will perform at the Savoy Theatre on Tuesday, February 16. The lineup of guitarist Bill Frisell, bassist Thomas Morgan, and drummer Rudy Royston is known for its magically intense concerts, where the music flows like a train of thought as the long-standing ensemble carries the story forward. The album Valentine, released in 2020, is the trio’s masterpiece, and in a live setting the music finds even new dimensions.
The Bill Frisell Trio sold out its previous Helsinki performance in spring 2025, and since then the group’s return has been eagerly anticipated. Having performed extensively this year as part of his 75th anniversary concerts, the master of elegant guitar artistry is at the peak of his career, and an extraordinary winter Tuesday evening at the Savoy—one that may even exceed already high expectations—is in store.
The organizer of the Bill Frisell Trio’s Helsinki appearance is the Helsinki-based We Jazz, which has recently expanded its activities beyond its record label, magazine, and festival productions to become an active concert promoter. Going forward, We Jazz Agency will organize concerts regularly, presenting artists whose music it believes in. Revitalizing Helsinki’s live music offering year-round is a particular focus for We Jazz.
