Baltic Jazz, which kicks off the Archipelago Sea Jazz festival series, will be held this coming weekend on Kemiönsaari in Taalintehdas's mining village for the 35th time. The program put together under the guidance of the festival's artistic director Antti Sarpila includes top domestic artists as well as guest artists from further afield. The weekend's larger concerts are organized in Ruukinpuisto and the old mechanical Verstas, which is making a comeback as a concert venue.

The Baltic Jazz park stage will be opened this year by DDT Jazzband with their 65th anniversary concert. At the anniversary concert, their guest of honor will be Johanna Försti, one of Finland’s most loved singers. A huge amount of experience, skill and emotion on stage on Friday July 7th at 7 p.m.

Baltic Jazz Saturday will have program from morning until late in the evening. The highlights of the day are Picnic in the Park containing three concerts (concerts 7-9) starting at 2 pm on the park stage and Swing Factory starting at 8 pm in the Mechanical Workshop in the evening, both featuring not only top domestic artists, but also visiting artists from further away.
