Baltic Jazz 2024 will take place in Taalintehdas, Kemiönsaari, from July 5th to 7th, and the traditional Varaslähtö event in Kasnäs will kick off the festival on Thursday, July 4th.
Baltic Jazz 2024 is full of unforgettable moments and heartwarming performances.
"Next summer's festival is already the 36th," says Sanna Järf, Chairperson of the Intresseförening för jazzmusik i Dalsbruk rf. The program, designed under the artistic direction of the legendary Antti Sarpila, honors the legacy of classic jazz and offers experiences for fans of other music genres as well.
On Thursday evening's Varaslähtö, the Archipelago Sea Jazz All Stars will perform, featuring musicians from four collaborating jazz festivals under the Archipelago Sea Jazz association.
Friday's park concert will feature the anniversary celebration of Kake & Co, last year's jazz street favorite Högsåra Hipsters, and the popular show choir ÅK Ensemble.
Saturday morning kicks off with Aarne Alligaattori, whose park concerts offer joyful music for the little ones in both Finnish and Swedish.
In the park on Saturday, you can also enjoy the Swinging At The Park jazz extravaganza, featuring Antti Sarpila and friends celebrating their 60th anniversary concert. The second performance will be by Danish artist Mette Juul with her CELESTE concert, and the third will be a Tribute To Frank Sinatra concert featuring SUMU Big Band with Strings feat. Sami Pitkämö.
Saturday evening will bring joyful gospel vibes to the Taalintehdas church with the Baltic Gospel Singers' 30th anniversary concert.
To conclude the evening, Jazzing Up The Factory event at Verstas will feature memorable performances by Marian Petrescu Combo, SUMU Big Band, and the Dutch band The Busquitos.
On Sunday, the festival's closing concerts, due to high demand, will be held in two parts at Söderlångvik Manor, where the audience will enjoy Django Reinhardt's tunes led by Olli Soikkeli Trio, featuring Antti Sarpila.
On Sunday evening at Verstas, the celebrations continue with three bands at the Afterparty, headlined by the highly anticipated TrrTrrTrr.
The festival's free concerts, as well as food and merchandise vendors, invite everyone to the Jazz Street set up in the Taalintehdas harbor area from July 5th to 7th to enjoy the authentic Baltic Jazz atmosphere.
The full festival program will be announced on April 19th, along with the start of ticket sales at tiketti.fi.
