Aki Rissanen, one of the most internationally known Finnish jazz names at the moment, will release one full concert recording per week from his video archive via his Facebook page. The series will begin on December 14th.
Releasing over the period of two months, most of the recordings released every Monday are previously unpublished material and entire concerts have never been released before. The picture quality of the videos varies from professional productions to the footage of one mobile phone, but the soundtrack has always been recorded in high quality separately.
Most of the videos feature Aki Rissanen Trio, whose rhythm section consists of bassist Antti Lötjönen and drummer Teppo Mäkynen, one of the most respected musicians in Finland. In addition to the trio, there are two quartet gigs with a band that Aki Rissanen led together with drummer Jussi Lehtonen a few years ago with saxophone legend Dave Liebman and bassist Jori Huhtala. In addition, the series includes two concerts by the trio Aleatoric with saxophonist Robin Verheyen and drummer Markku Ounaskari.
