Jazz HUG collective organises a jazz night at one of the most atmospheric restaurants of Helsinki, Kappeli. The concert takes place in Kellari downstairs venue. Aili Ikonen & Tribute to Ella and NYConnection, two of the hottest groups in today‘s jazz scene, will heat up the intimate cellar cooking hot this Sunday.
Aili Ikonen & Tribute to Ella, fronted by the brightest star of jazz vocals in Finland, Aili Ikonen, have played to full houses since their formation. Now their disarming renditions of Ella Fitzgerald’s classics can be experienced in an intimate club milieu. NYConnection is an international group with drummer Jaska Lukkarinen and Israeli pianist Roy Assaf at the helm. They released their sophomore late in the spring, and are making a convincing breakthrough into the international jazz scene at the very moment.
After the gigs, Jazz HUG invites the guests of the weekend’s Jazz Finland Festival to jam to their heart’s content and let out all the notes that were left unplayed at the festival.
