Lyrics: traditional, from Yaresan culture

MA Rouf plays traditional Middle Eastern music with Afro-centric and Scandinavian jazz influences.

Marouf Majidi was raised surrounded by a rich Middle Eastern heritage, and he learned early on to play the native stringed instruments, the enchantingly dark-sounding tar and tanbour. Majidi’s current songs travel from Kurdish scenes to Arabic and Scandinavian atmospheres.

Marouf Majidi - tanbour, tar, vocals
Jouni Järvelä -  soprano, alto & tenor saxophones; Eb, Bb and bass clarinets; flute; piano/Pianoteq virtual keyboards, melodica
Mikko Hassinen - drums and percussion
