TARA is the third album by Aapo Heinonen Quintet, led by pianist-composer Aapo Heinonen The album was released on German Ozella Music on 14 September and it is the first album the quintet releases with the new ensemble. In addition to two original members, Heinonen and drummer Tomi Saikkonen, the album features saxophonist Teemu Takanen, guitarist Héctor Lepe and bassist Vesa Ojaniemi.  

On TARA, the atmosphere may easily change from melancholic, even dark, to happy and joyful in one song, still being able to let the entirety to sound organic and natural.

Heinonen himself describes the quintet's music modern big band music played on small ensemble. Cinematic atmosphere based on strong melodies and imaginative arrangements is characteristic to the quintet’s music. The band seeks influences widely from jazz, film music and progressive rock. Their music awakens visual images in the listener’s mind and is difficult to put in place.
