Biography
The concluding part of Olavi Louhivuori's album trilogy is crowned by master drummers Glenn Kotche and Tony Buck.
The final part of Olavi Louhivuori's Immediate Music series, Immediate Music III, was recorded at the Meidän Festivaalit in Järvenpää in the summer of 2021. The album continues Louhivuori's ambitious series exploring experimental and improvised music. The culmination of the third part of the release features international top drummers Glenn Kotche (Wilco, Jim O’Rourke, Kronos Quartet) and Tony Buck (The Necks, Spill, John Zorn).

Drummer-composer Olavi Louhivuori is known, especially for his Emma Award-winning bands Oddarrang and Superposition, as well as his diverse solo productions. Louhivuori is an integral part of several leading jazz ensembles, such as Linda Fredriksson Juniper, Ilmiliekki Quartet, Alexi Tuomarila Trio, and Joona Toivanen Trio. The artist, known for his nuanced and experimental drumming, has performed globally with the likes of Tomasz Stanko, Lee Konitz, Anthony Braxton, and Marilyn Crispell, among others. Louhivuori has composed music for small ensembles, films, big bands, and symphony orchestras – and has been involved in over a hundred recordings in total.
Australian-born drummer Tony Buck is best known internationally as a founding member of The Necks. Buck's influence as a visionary pioneer in improvisation and experimental music is undeniable. In addition to The Necks, Buck has collaborated with many top artists such as Jon Rose, Otomo Yoshihide, Spill, John Zorn, and Evan Parker.
Glenn Kotche is an American drummer and composer best known as the longtime drummer for the band Wilco. In addition to his work with Wilco, Kotche is known for his versatile work in classical music and his solo productions. Kotche's collaborators include Jim O'Rourke, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway, Neil Finn, Kronos Quartet, Iron and Wine, Chicago Youth Symphony, and Andrew Bird. He was selected for Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest drummers of all time in 2008.
