Biography

Ilmonique is a duet album by German-Austrian pianist Achim Kaufmann and Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima, released on July 19, 2024, through the TYXArt label.

The collaboration brings together two highly distinctive voices in contemporary jazz and improvised music. Kaufmann’s lyrical and explorative piano playing blends seamlessly with Kalima’s inventive acoustic guitar work, creating a soundscape that is both intimate and adventurous. Known for their versatility and creative depth, the duo explores a rich dialogue between piano and steel-string acoustic guitar, offering a unique listening experience that balances structure and spontaneity.
