effect of clouds is part of Jukka-Pekka Kervinen’s ongoing process of using recycled materials, usually his own free improvisations.

For this album Jukka-Pekka Kervinen recorded new improvisations using various digital sources, and one experimental trumpet improvisation. Kervinen wrote a software program to make stochastic variations of the pool. After that the generated material was run through another set of programs, written in the ChucK live coding audio language. This created even more variations to the original improvisations - like a second and third perspective of the overall pool of material.

Kervinen tried to find all kinds of combinations of sounds relating to the originals, surprising elements, permutations and new sonic worlds, while still connecting to the original pool of material.
