Biography
The third release by Kalle Kalima & K-18 consists of music inspired by the Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel's cinematic works.
Kalle Kalima & K-18 continues exploring the world of the cinema on their third release.
Whereas the two previous albums were drew from the films by Stanley Cubrick and David Lynch, respectively, on Buñuel de Jour, Kalle Kalima and co. have moved on to the Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel's cinematic creations. The majority of the compositions are from the pen of the group leader Kalima, who has translated his impressions of such films as Belle de Jour, The Descreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and An Andalusian Dog, into the language of music.
The album was premiered at the April Jazz Festival of 2014 in a concert where Kalle Kalima & K-18 performed the new pieces and Buñuel's Belle de Jour was screened.
