Biography

Matti Salo is a musician and guitarist living in Tampere, Finland. During his career Salo has played in several bands such as legendary Finnish folk / free jazz band Piirpauke. Matti Salo Quartet is the main arena for creating Salo’s own music. Previous albums of Matti Salo Quartet are Tetraktys (2019) and Nepal (2022).

4+4 is Matti Salo Quartet's third album. As the bands name suggests, the two previous albums have featured a group of four. This time, the quartet is complemented by a string quartet, which brings completely new airy features to the band's expression. Hence the name of the album.
