Sibelius Academy is the first school in Finland to add national jazz history to its course selection on a university level.

The course, entitled "The history of jazz music in Finland", will take place in the spring term, as a part of the general music history studies. The course is also available for the open university students. The course is led by Atro "Wade" Mikkola (MuM), who has also teached history of jazz and Afro-American music both at the Sibelius Academy and at Metropolia.

The course will be held in Finnish.
