entry-image

The strengths of the festival, held for the third time this year, are a bold and internationally high-level program, the unique maritime milieu of the island of Lonna, and the approachable atmosphere of the compact event. The first of 2023 performers have been announced.

The Odysseus festival, which has quickly become one of the most important music events of summertime Helsinki, will be organized for the third time on Lonna island from Friday to Sunday, 21–23 July. At the heart of the event is a wide-ranging program of adventurous music, which includes plenty of internationally renowned names both from Finland and abroad.

The first artist announcement includes e.g. Austrian experimental music legend Fennesz, American harpist Mary Lattimore, Brazilian psych rock band Oruã, Californian duo Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer, who released an ambient album recorded in the Åland Islands for the International Anthem label, Malian Ahmed Ag Kaedy, who performs as a duo with Australian drummer Will Guthrie, and domestic top names like Linda Fredriksson Juniper, Antti Lötjönen Quintet East, VIRTA and Valtteri Laurell Nonet.

More performer announcements, information about the event area and more detailed daily schedules will be announced during the spring and early summer. Odysseus is organized by Helsinki-based We Jazz, which is known for its record label, winter jazz festival and record store.
