Lizard jazz on Finnish Jazz Federation tour

entry-image

Fredator and his fellow lizardists have mastered the genre of danceable Latin jazz since 2009. After their debut album in 2010, the orchestra shed its skin, gained some new members, and took a whole new direction before publishing their second album Rebirth of the Bad in 2012. Now the bunch heads for a two-week long tour in Finland.

Fredator and his group have mastered the genre of danceable Latin jazz. After their debut album Bad Jazz in 2010, the orchestra shed its skin, gained some new members, and took a whole new direction before publishing their second album Rebirth of the Bad (Suomen Musiikki 2012).

Inside the lizard costume is drummer-pianist Jussi Fredriksson, who is active in numerous orchestras, has led the Korpo Sea Jazz festival, is the primus motor of the Flame Jazz club series in Turku and runs his own record label Fredriksson Music. He is also part of the Helsinki Jazz Underground Collective, which promotes jazz in Helsinki.

This tour exceptionally features a true living legend, Severi Pyysalo on the vibraphone instead of the band's original vibesman Panu Savolainen.
