Jazz City Turku kicks off its autumn season at Bar Ö on Friday, September 8th, with the cool Freezer album release concert. During the autumn, there will be the Finnish Big Band Days, jazz performances at a new wine event, and, of course, the highly popular Flame Jazz Cruise.
Jazz City Turku's Flame Jazz club concerts this autumn will once again feature the latest Finnish music, including album release concerts by Freezer and Josefiina Vannesluoma & Mortal Lease. Turku will also host exciting international artists, such as saxophonist Signe Emmeluth, drummer Cornelia Nilsson, and bassist-vocalist Sarah Murcia.
In October, Turku will celebrate the Finnish Big Band Days with events like a free concert by UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, the release of Turku Jazz Orchestra and Tero Lindberg's new album, and the eagerly awaited jazz cruise on Viking Grace.
November will bring events like Turku Jazz Orchestra's energetic Weather Report concert, and in December, Flame Jazz will participate in a new wine event at Turun VPK's house.
Monday Jazz Happening, a jam event on Monday evenings, will start again on September 4th at Rica Bar in collaboration with Turku Conservatory.
Jazz City Turku offers the opportunity to explore jazz concerts for free. Tickets for two Turku Jazz Orchestra November concerts and all Flame Jazz concerts can be borrowed from Turku Main Library. The season ticket does not cover the cruise or wine event, and the card can only be borrowed once during the autumn season.
