Vibraphone trio HERD hosts a series of clubs monthly during the fall of 2013. The first three nights feature saxophone virtuoso Jukka Perko.
HERD started hosting clubs and playing as the resident band at the National Theatre's Lavaklubi in 2012. This fall the club extends to elongated weekends in September, October, November and December. Three cities, three venues, one band, one guest star.
The first special guest on the HERD clubs is saxman Jukka Perko. The repertoire of the collaboration consists of Simon & Garfunkel covers, which Perko usually performs with symphony orchestras.
The previous guests of HERD clubs include trumpeter Verneri Pohjola, saxophone legend Eero Koivistoinen, pianist-composer Kirmo Lintinen and guitarist Timo Kämäräinen. The upcoming clubs continue marching top talents on stage with HERD's vibrafonist Panu Savolainen, bassist Mikko Pellinen and drummer Tuomas Timonen: after Jukka Perko there's vocalist Aili Ikonen, percussionist Zarkus Poussa and pianist-composer Timo Alakotila.
