The international festival Hanko Soul Jazz Weekend is coming back to the city, this year for the ninth time.
This year's theme is "Legends & Groove," with the main concert focusing primarily on the music of Stevie Wonder. The featured soloists include American singer G Curtis, saxophone star Timo Lassy, and a lineup of top Finnish jazz musicians.
Los Angeles-based music producer and composer Jan Simons has created a festival format where we can enjoy the energetic ensemble playing of top-notch jazz and soul artists and unforgettable encounters.
"This year's Legends & Groove theme is particularly important to us. We have designed the program to reflect this theme both in terms of material and performer lineup. We eagerly anticipate sharing this experience with our audience," says Simons.
The full program will be released before Midsummer.
