Lahti Jazztori kicked off today

Lahti Jazztori Festival kicks off today at the jazz tent at Vesijärvi Harbour. A warm atmosphere is a guarantee at the last festival of the summer, which features artists from a wide variety of genres, including jazz and popular music, with a sprinkling of pop, rock, latin rhythms and reggae.


KYN to premiere suites by Mikko Hassinen and Jukka Linkola

Women’s choir KYN will premiere two compositions commissioned from Mikko Hassinen and Jukka Linkola in concert "Valoja, varjoja - äänessä etninen jazz" at Savoy-teatteri on 21 October 2014. Both suites fall into the category of so-called ethnic jazz, a genre that KYN has formulated through commissioned works. The genre fuses melodic elements and texts of traditional Finnish folk with rhythmics and harmonic structures borrowed from the field of jazz.





UMO's autumn 2014 now here
