Turku Jazz Orchestra to delve into the worlds of Thad Jones and collaborates and Finnish film music this spring

The spring season of Turku Jazz Orchestra is made of enjoyable jazz numbers, a wide sprectrum of moods and fireworks of rhythm. This spring TJO will delve into the classics of Thad Jones and collaborate with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra in a grand-scale concert exploring the real of Finnish film music. Collaboration with the Big Band Course will also continue and on a more extensive scale than before.


Jazz bassist Jori Huhtala to relase his debut album on 23 January

Going by the name of their leader, Jori Huhtala 5 bring out their debut on Friday 23 January 2015 on the label Fredriksson Music. Huhtala has called up some of his favourite musicians to play his original compositions, which bring together old and new traditions of jazz with a unique freshness, even quirkiness.
