Drummers Pauli Rukakoski and Veikka Kajamies awarded at Turku Jazz Festival

In addition to the traditional Artist of the Year award, this year Turku Jazz Festival introduced two new awards. During the award ceremony held at Logomo on the festival's Friday, a new Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Pauli Rukakoski, while the Young Talent Award was awarded to Veikka Kajamies.




Turku Jazz Festival awards musicians from Southwest Finland

The festival day on Friday, March 8th, kicks off with celebration at the Logomo Teatro Hall. Turku Jazz Festival introduces two new award categories: Lifetime Achievement Award and Young Jazz Talent Award. The traditional Artist of the Year award goes to Ville Vannemaa.


Timo Lassy and Jukka Eskola's album Nordic Stew has been released

Renowned Finnish jazz artists saxophonist Timo Lassy and trumpeter Jukka Eskola fulfilled a long-time dream by recording the Lassy-Eskola - Nordic Stew album in New Orleans with top local musicians. Following the album release, they will embark on a five-concert tour in Finland starting from the Savoy Jazz Festival in Helsinki on March 6, accompanied by American musicians.




Pori Jazz announces first artists for summer 2024

Pet Shop Boys’ DREAMWORLD, The Greatest Hits Live Tour, and singer Jason Derulo will headline next summer’s Pori Jazz. International jazz guests at the Lokkilava Stage include pianist Myra Melford and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Finnish acts like Verneri Pohjola: Monkey Mind and Lassy-Eskola: Nordic Stew.


Jazzahead takes place 11–3 April, 2024

The Jazzahead, held annually in Bremen, Germany, is regarded as the most important international gathering and public festival for professionals in the jazz field. The upcoming Jazzahead will take place from April 11th to April 13th.
