Simon Zion & Ville Luukkonen Band emerged from a musical partnership and the desire to share a common vision with live audiences.

Simon Zion is a Finnish-born guitarist, singer, composer, and producer who has spent most of his life in Sweden. He is primarily known there for his success on the Swedish Idols program, after which he has actively released music across a wide spectrum from traditional jazz to psychedelic rock, while working actively between Stockholm and Los Angeles.

Ville Luukkonen (drums) and Zion have joined forces in the form of a very intimate acoustic jazz album. The Ballad Sessions showcases Zion's strong jazz interpretation, which leads far back to his musical roots. According to him, this album has been spiritually in the making for a decade, and now it's finally the right time to complete the work. Tuomo Uusitalo on piano and Juuso Rinta on bass represent the pinnacle of Finnish jazz music in their own right and complete the group with their delicate and rooted expression.
