Sharad Shakya Group is a jazz ensemble led by guitarist Sharad Shakya, founded in 2012. The group specializes in improvised guitar music while following the jazz tradition.

Originally from Nepal, Sharad Shakya moved to Finland in 2009 for music studies. The trio, consisting of Shakya, bassist Ari Hossi and drummer Kasper Halttunen, respects the traditions of jazz music while also being eager to push boundaries and blend different music cultures. They strive to stay current and experiment with modern music styles and sounds. Regardless of genre and style, improvisation has always been important to Shakya in music. He aims to engage in musical conversations with the band members and make the music interesting for listeners.

Sharad Shakya Group released their first album in 2018 titled Kathmansinki, combining Kathmandu and Helsinki. Since their debut album, the group has also released a couple of compositions.
