Mikko Iivanainen Ensemble, formed in 2017, consists of three smaller ensembles, which can be brought together to create interesting sound combinations. Traditional combos; guitar trio, string quartet and woodwind section are different from each other and sound their own kind. Quartet’s possibilities combined to electric guitar give an excellent musical tool and woodwind section brings jazzy expression power to the sound.

The versatile texture is born from melody, orchestration, harmony, sound, rhythm and improvisation and exploited in compositions and arrangements. Beauty and soulfulness combined with swing are the leading ideas for their music. The debut album is set to release in spring 2019.
