Matti Salo Quartet was founded in January 2018 and consists of Matti Salo, Sami Sippola, Ville Rauhala ja Janne Tuomi. The band's debut album Tetraktys was released in May 2019 by Luova Records.

The music of the Matti Salo Quartet combines influences from musicians of the Middle East, merging them with American jazz and a wide range of Finnish folk music, thereby creating a unique sound.
