The music of Kielo Kärkkäinen's and Matti Salo's band combines jazz, folk, poetry, progressive rock and improvisation.
In October 2020, the band released EP Valon mentyä, which is the first recording in a three-part series. The second part En voi jäädä suremaan was released in 2022. Both parts were published by Texicalli Records, and the series as a whole examines the cyclical nature of time.
Kärkkäinen and Salo's project began in the spring of 2020, when the corona pandemic transformed the everyday of actively touring musicians to days spent at home, studios and local paths in a succession of repetitive days. The pandemic is still not over, so the sequels to the series will address the same topic with new discoveries. The pandemic has affected the lives of all people in some way, so the band’s preconceptions can broaden the field of vision and resonate in the minds of contemporaries.
Both Kärkkäinen and Salo are at an interesting point in their careers. Matti Salo lead his own quartet and trio, both of which have released their debut albums within recent years. Kielo Kärkkäinen has released four singer-songwriter records and material in Finnish and Spanish with the world music band Belize.
