Founded in 1997, Gourmet is one of the longest-standing Finnish jazz bands. With five studio albums under their belt, Gourmet performs compositions by its founders Esa Onttonen and Mikko Innanen, drawing inspiration from elements such as surf guitar, schlager, Parisian café vibes, Wild West themes, Balkan horn sounds, century-old New Orleans blues, waltzes, marches, and punk beats. However, what unites all these elements is the band's strong jazz expression, creating Gourmet's characteristic rich sound.

In November 2020, Gourmet released the album New Habitat at the Tampere Jazz Happening, which was described in a four-star review by Soundi magazine as embodying Ugric yearning, unabashed sentimentality, and quirky folk music vibes. The band's sixth album, their first live album, is set to be released in 2024. The album is dedicated to Gourmet musicians Petri Keskitalo and Janne Antikainen, who passed away in the spring of 2023.
