Elias Nieminen is a composer, band leader and drummer, originally from Tampere, based now in Helsinki. He has studied to become a professional musician at the Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory, where he studied drums, piano and music composition between 2020 and 2022.



Nieminen started composing early in high school and since the beginning he has been particularly interested in the sound worlds of large ensembles, such as big band- and film music. Nieminen’s most important role model is the English pianist and composer Bill Laurance (UK), whose music has inspired him also in the composition of his upcoming album. Currently, Nieminen is studying composition in Helsinki with Mikko Sarvanne.
