Varre Vartiainen's international solo album Almost Standards was released in February 2022.

Varre Vartiainen's versatility as a musician and rock 'n roll attitude have laid the foundation for a career that combines working in the fields of both rock and jazz music in a rare way.

Almost Standards focuses on traditional-style jazz expression. The album features Varre Vartiainen Trio (bassist Timo Hirvonen and drummer Jussi Lehtonen) as well as Finnish jazz legends Jukkis Uotila (piano), Severi Pyysalo (vibraphone) and saxophone virtuoso Joonatan Rautio.
