Jori Huhtala's Talambo finishes its Jazz Finland tour mid-December

Talambo, which has grown from a studio project to a plush-sounding septet, will visit four locations in mid-December. The tour was originally scheduled to take place in the spring of 2021, but was postponed to the fall due to corona. NB! Concert in Joensuu on Dec 14 is cancelled!

The seven-member Talambo band, led by Jori Huhtala, will be heard in four concerts across Finland in December. The ”head start” of the tour produced by the Jazz Finland took place in September in Oulu, and now in December the line-up will finish its tour in Espoo, Joensuu, Savonlinna and Jyväskylä.

Talambo is a band assembled around bassist-composer Jori Huhtala's studio project of the same name, which performs music from the album Delusions of Grandeur released by Eclipse Music in the spring of 2020. On this record Huhtala returns to his first love electric bass, and plays several other instruments on the side, as well as being fully responsible for the recording and production of the record.

The members of the band represent the absolute top of Finnish jazz and their playing has been heard in several of the most distinctive jazz and pop bands of Finland, such as 3TM, Dalindèo, Ismo Alanko, Yona and Anni Elif - Edith.

Jori Huhtala (b. 1984) is known as an expressive and versatile bassist who has worked with numerous domestic and international jazz tops over the years, from Jukkis Uotila to the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and Dave Liebman to Tim Hagans.
