Jazz-Espa brings the long-awaited free concerts to Espa Stage in July

The annual Jazz-Espa concert series takes place at the Espa open air stage on July 26–31, 2021. The event is hosted by Jazz Finland, with the health and safety of all the attendees as the number one priority.

Jazz-Espa features 17 Finnish jazz ensembles within the six days of July 26 to 31. From Monday to Friday, the showtimes are at 1.00pm, at 3.00pm and at 5.30pm. On the final Saturday, there are only two matinee concerts, at Noon and at 2.00pm. The concerts are free, family-friendly and accessible for all. Espa stage is an open air venue, therefor Jazz Finland reserves the right to programme changes and cancellations in case of a bad weather conditions.

Highlights of this summer’s repertoire include the big ensemble ‘N Stuff, who combine Brazilian rhythms and orchestral jazz; Emma-nominated pianist Riitta Paakki with their quartet, and bassist-vocalist Kaisa Mäensivu’s compelling trio.

All the events that take place on the Espa stage this summer, will follow the latest guidelines that the Regional Administrative Agency AVI release. Savoy Theatre manages the Espa stage, and they are accountable for the general safety protocol. Jazz Finland are responsible for executing the protocol during the event. The audience capacity will be limited to a number that enables safety distancing in the marked audience area. Seated, standing and wheelchair sections will be available. Wearing facial mask is recommended.

The event website www.jazzespa.fi features a more detailed safety plan, including the protocol for safer spaces. The covid-19 instructions will be updated accordingly on the event website and Facebook event page. The audience are kindly asked to familiarize the practices in advance.
