Call for jazz bands to participate in Nordic Jazz Comets 2022!

The Nordic network of national jazz organizations and club & festival promotors opens a call for bands to participate in a showcase and educational event in Copenhagen on February 9–10, 2022. The deadline for applying is August 31, 2021.

The Nordic network of national jazz organizations and jazz promoters have launched a new project for sustainable live music production in the Nordic region during 2022. The Nordic Jazz Comets Dagsverko project is coordinated by Jazz Danmark, and funded by the Nordic Culture Point and the five national jazz organizations: FÍH Music School in Iceland, JazzDanmark, Jazz Finland, Norsk jazzforum and Svensk Jazz.

Apply now with your band to take part in the project and Nordic Jazz Comets showcase and workshop in Copenhagen on the 9–10 of February 2022.

The national jazz organizations and the growing network of Nordic jazz festivals and clubs invite your band to apply for a showcase event, where you get to perform to a group of professionals and local audiences and learn about environmentally and socially sustainable practices!

All the applications are reviewed by professional reference groups in each country, and further on all the bands are introduced to the inter-Nordic jury. So even if your band is not selected for the showcase, your music and promo material get the attention of over 20 Nordic jazz professionals.

The selected bands:

  • Get professional career coaching provided by their national jazz organization.
  • Perform for the public and Nordic jazz professionals at the Nordic Jazz Comets showcase in Copenhagen's Club Montmartre on February 10, 2022 (the showcase is paid according to the standard fees in the country of origin).
  • Meet all the Nordic promoters and participate in a professional career & sustainability workshop and seminar in Copenhagen on February 9, 2022.
