Apply now to perform at Jazz-Espa festival and on Jazz Finland tours

The Finnish Jazz Federation will organize two tours and two co-produced tours in the fall of 2019. Application for the Jazz-Espa Festival 2019, taking place in July, can be completed with the same application form. The application is open from October 1 to October 29, 2018.

Saxophonist William Suvanne Chess'n Jazz grand tour supports the release of the new album, set to release on 28 September. The album leads the listener to the world of the grand game and the concerts are accompanied with chess tournaments.

FinEst Jazz Rally seeks future stars for a band competition in Tallinn

New application round to Jazz Finland's and Estonian Jazz Union's new band competition for young jazz musicians begins. The winner will be rewarded with two festival gigs in Finland and Estonia in March 2020. FinEst Jazz Rally is an international contest where – while fighting for the championship – the bands and the audience get to know the up-and-coming musicians and jazz traditions of both countries. The application period starts on October 15th and ends on December 15, 2018!

Jazz Finland's 2018 fall tour season begins in September

Jazz Finland's own tour productions and supported tours include saxophonist Joakim Berghäll's deeply moving 'The Arctic' series, vibraphonist Arttu Takalo's Parisian-style vibes-accordion ensemble L'Alliance Takalo, saxophone and chess virtuoso William Suvanne's quirky Chess'n Jazz double bill, and vocalist Anni Elif Egecioglu's project to Edith Södergran's poetry.

The sun-bathed Jazz-Espa gathered a large audience

The Jazz-Espa concert series brought Finnish jazz music to the Helsinki city centre for the nineteenth time. Together the events drew over 4,000 during the one-week period from 29th July to 5th August. New to this year were the opening and closing clubs, called Summer Bay Jazz (Suvilahti Jazz) at the restaurant ship Merikerho.

New Summer Bay Jazz event opens the buzzing Jazz-Espa week on Sunday the 29th

The annual Jazz-Espa takes over the Esplanadi park from 30 July to 4 August with almost 20 top-notch ensembles performing at the Espa outdoor stage. This year alongside the Jazz-Espa, opening and closing club nights are celebrated at restaurant ship Merikerho with new event Summer Bay Jazz (Suvilahti Jazz).
