As to the home front, the project seeks to assist Finnish jazz companies in matters related to internationalisation, including the aspects of sales, marketing and networking. Companies involved are Aki Rissanen Music, Annamaija Music Company, Astra Music, Boulder Music Helsinki, Creatika Agency, Diamond T Ltd, EK-Production Ltd, Eclipse Music, Hub Productions, Jazz HUG, Joonas Haavisto Productions, Marjatta & Kaisa Ltd, No Problem! Music, Vapaat äänet and We Jazz Ltd. During the second project period 2017 - 2018, the current participants will continue pursuing their export & exchange plans.

The Ministry of Education and Culture has allotted a special export grant of 110.000 euros for Jazz Finland International's second working season. Launched in 2016, the project seeks to support the internationalisation of Finnish jazz music. Currently 15 companies take part in the program.

Jazz Finland is proud to work side by side with Music Finland in promoting the undisputed artistry and expertize that the Finnish musicians and companies are famous for.

Saturday night is for clubbing

The second day of jazzahead! 2017 was yet another success for the Finnish delegates. The opening Thursday was reported to have drawn the biggest audiences ever, and last night’s gala concert starring Iiro Rantala with Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen showed what can be accomplished when jazz, improvisation and classical music shake hands. The Tampere-hosted jam afterparty in the Schlachthof basement really hit the chord after the long showcase day. Both, the musicians and the listeners seemed to enjoy a little break from the business buzz.
