Ilkka Oksanen

Ilkka Oksanen (born 1990) is a versatile and joyful drummer. He has graduated from Jyväskylä conservatory in 2012 and is currently studying at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. While in Jyväskylä, Ilkka played in Jyväskylä Big Band, gigging in Keitele Jazz Festival, Imatra Big Band Festival and Jyväskylä’s Summer, among others. Jyväskylä Big Band won the national big band competition held in Imatra in 2012. Oksanen has also performed in the Finnish Air Force Big Band and numerous smaller ensembles. Currently he’s working as a freelancer and plays in jazz-group called Second Wind Quintet. His biggest influences are Brian Blade, Keith Carlock and Eric Harland.
